Brief Description

Important Information  Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview.  The candidates should ensure that all the relevant information and documents have been uploaded before finalizing the application. After submission of the application, the candidate should keep a copy of it for his/her record. No hard copy of the application need to be submitted.  For availing reservation, the candidates should upload copies of their valid SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PWD Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format of the Government of India along with the application form in support of their claim.  Applicants called for interview will be reimbursed to and fro travel expenses within India. However, the Economy Class Air Fare Tickets should be purchased through authorized travel agents i.e. Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC), M/s Balmer Lawrie & Company Limited (BLCL),and M/s Ashoka Tours & Travels (ATT). Accommodation may be provided on payment basis in the Institute Guest House subject to availability.  It is the responsibility of the applicant to keep his/her current employer informed about his/her application to IIT Mandi.  The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the post(s) advertised without assigning any reason. The Institute has the right to set different as well as higher norms, while short-listing, considering the specific requirement of the schools. Based on the shortlisting criteria, applications will be processed. Only the shortlisted applicants will be contacted through the emails provided by them in the application form.  The Institute may consider candidates whose area of specialization and specific qualification lie outside those stated herein, provided these candidates have an outstanding record.  The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates or interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualification, experience and other academic achievements higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.  The Institute reserves the right to withdraw any advertised position(s) at any time without assigning any reason.  The invitation to candidate for interview merely indicates that it is felt that he/she with others may be suitable for the post and conveys no assurance whatsoever that he/she will be recommended or selected or his/her conditions specified in the application will be accepted.  No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding reason for not being called for presentation/interview/outcome of interview.  Depending on requirement, interview may be conducted in selected specializations only. However, exceptionally meritorious candidates in any area of specialization pertaining to the said specialization will also be considered.  The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the online application form. If it is found at a later stagethat any information given in the application is incorrect/false, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.  Applicants employed in Government and Semi Government organizations, Public Undertakings, University and Educational Institutions should submit their application through proper channel or submit “No Objection Certificate from the current employer at the time of Interview. Post, Pay Structure and Essential Qualification and Experience are as follows: S. No Post Pay Structure/ Scale as per 7th CPC Essential Qualifications Experience 1 Professor Level:14A, Cell-1 (Starting Basic Pay Rs. 1,59,100/- Ph.D in appropriate branch /discipline and first class in the preceding degree with very good academic record throughout. A minimum of 10 years teaching/research/ industrial experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign Institution (s) of comparable standards. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of PhD students, strong research record, including publications in highly reputed peer reviewed journals, patents, laboratory/course development, sponsored research projects and/or other recognized relevant professional activities. 

2 Associate Professor Level:13A2, Cell-1 (Starting Basic Pay Rs. 1,39,600/- Ph.D in appropriate branch /discipline and first class in the preceding degree with very good academic record throughout. A minimum of 06 years teaching/ research/ professional experience of which at least three years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in an academic institution or Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer or equivalent position in a research organization or industry as on the date of application. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of M.Tech and Ph.D students, strong record of publications in journals of high impact factor, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities. 

3. Assistant Professor Grade-I Level 12, Cell 1 (Starting Basic Pay Rs.1,01,500/- At least 3 years of post PhD experience in relevant industrial/research/teaching (excluding the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D.). 

4. Assistant Professor Grade-II Level 10, Cell 14 (Starting Basic Pay Rs. 84,700/-) Level 11, Cell 10 ( Starting Basic Pay Rs. 89,900/-) Level 11, Cell 11 (Starting Basic Pay Rs. 92,600/-) Candidates with Post PhD experience less than 3 years (i.e. Fresh Ph.D., Ph.D.+1 year Experience, and Ph.D.+ 2 years Experience)
